Our men's line is named after a fish. In Louisiana, where Maggie and Michael grew up, the Freshwater Drum is known by its regional name "Gasper Goo".

Drum fish eat mussels, breaking the hard shells open with their large, very strong molar-like teeth (it is a weird fish!).

One theory for the Gasper Goo name is that it is a corruption of the Louisiana French "Casse Burgau", which kindof translates to "Mussel Breaker".

We thought it would be fun to have a designer-like name for our men's stuff so we frenchified the first name to Gaspar and un-"goo"-ified the last to Gou :)
